Episode 5: Floss leader!

Episode Four: Quack it up fuzzball!

The Fiction Project Oddessy Starts...

I just got it in the mail a few scant days before the heart of the holiday season. My subject is Nightmare. So I'll be digging up old dream memories of the past... that stuck-out as totally disturbing to me.

This will be the most honest account of the strangeness of my unconsciousness. I'm nervous on how people will react. I mean all of it is intangible (not real) in a sense, right? But these are... and were... fading glimpses deep inside of me at one point. Entities that invaded my dreams, and objects telling me how to do things, etc.

It could all be my brain de-fragmenting like a computer, so I can remember the next day, and keep my mind less cluttered. Maybe it is my true self communicating ideas...

All I can do now is document them as best I can, I've got till May first.

Infinity Wall Comic 3: Let's make a wish!

Episode Duce! Infinity Wall

Once Again! Another July Fighter Poster!

Infinity Wall

Here is the first episode (every Wednesday).  I'll publish it here too to make life less complicated for my fellow blog watchers, but if you want to follow it via Wordpress we have the actual site there: http://infinitywallcomix.com/
Look it up on Facebook, and "like" it if you want.  I hope everyone enjoys it... even if it has swears. Cheers!

Fan art I guess...

I started doing some fan art of my favorite local comic artists in Minnesota, and on the web. Its my tribute of appreciation for them making comics and creating sequential art (because its fucking hard). This one is of Ryan Dow http://ryandow.com/ic/ he has got a great eye for pacing, and I like his general honest view of life. So I drew this for him.

The Fiction Project.

The Fiction Project is an opportunity to tell stories in a different way by fusing text and visual art. The moleskin is dinky (5.5 x 8.5 inches) I dunno if I can draw that small. I chose the subject "nightmare", and I have some good ones. Like the bad dream I had recently... I was petting a tiny kitten, and it had a giant eye in its back. Yep, I got plenty of creepy shit write and draw out.

Anybody else that reads this site, I'd recommend going for it also. Why not?

Infinity Wall Comic!

My fellow friend and co-worker... the insanely talented Cory Speets
See here: http://www.gigposters.com/designer/57842_Cory_Speets.html
We have an unconventional way of producing them... in reverse order.
I draw them first, then Cory writes them. Simple as that. Strangeness will ensue, I assure you. The first will posted here and other websites next Wednesday... every Wednesday until we tire of it.

Hopefully not though.

Voldemort Art night!

On Tuesday nights I head over to my friends house and we have an art night. So we all drew our version of that guy who shall not be named. Plus I hammered out a quick sketch of a random Goddess and a multi-tailed fox.

San Francisco!

My crummy Picture of Lombard Street.

I loved it... seriously... I just wish I could have seen more of it. I was there on business, and only really had two hours of my own time to look around. I am most certainly going back... on my own time... someday. I am jealous of that city and its sheer variety character.

Ghosts - Images

Yet another art show update!

Here is another cropped section (detail I guess) of one of my illustrations for the show. It will be in full color also, but I want that to be a surprise for the folks that show up to the opening.

Ghosts art show posters are finished!

Thanks to Pat Callahan for producing them, he did a stellar job.

Also thanks to Will Dinski for posting the photos (an extremely wonderful cartoonist in his own right).

You can take a look here at the posters.

I'm starting to reach fever pitch here...

"Spirit kiss" teaser 2 of 3 process

Sometimes we lose our heads, when in the moment.

Ghosts art show progress... process.

The first mysterious illustration/painting (1 of 3). For the upcoming Ghosts art show.

Its been awhile since I've used tracing paper. But this was the way it panned out to compose it for Photoshop, especially when I scan it in the computer. To make life easier to edit this monster of a drawing. I joke because its basically the "real world" version of layers. It seems to look visually cluttered right now, but once I included color in the ghost "streams"... I hope it will all come together. I'll post the next step soon.

Matic

More to it then meets the glaze.

Raining heavily in Minnesota today. Steady oppressive rain, good stuff.

The Halloween Kids Show Begins Again.

Art show coming up October 15th

It will be ghost themed art. With art by myself, Chrysa Otto, Sarah Hedstrand and Katy Ellis. Limited edition silk screen prints (50) designed by Cory Speets http://www.gigposters.com/designer/57842_Cory_Speets.html and printed by Pretty Picture Prints. http://prettypictureprints.com/ Button packets designed by all of the artists will be for sale at the show also. I'm stoked!

My apologies Mr. Morrison

If Jim was a grunge rocker from the 1990's.

Hot Rod with a Radiohead flavor.

Old illustration revisited.

I made it more... fancy... I guess.

Finished Poster/ Process

Rough thumbnail idea.

Pencil minimal inking.

Almost there.

BAM! Color and layout!

More posters soon.

Trying out a "REAL" brush pen for the first time.

I don't know if I like it, a little too loose. I'll keep at it... everyone needs to bust out of their comfort zone once and while. I felt like a Japanese calligrapher... I was one with the Hulk.

ROCK MONSTER!

July Fighter Album Cover

I had a lot of fun at the photo shoot (even with the mosquitoes). Thanks to Jimmy for giving me the opportunity to design this album. Its not to often I get to illustrate a lighting bug.

If you are in the Minneapolis area go check out their CD release show on Saturday the 28th.

Rain, rain go away.

Cartoonist Conspiracy Jam!

Ridiculous Concept: Take two dozen cartoonists and 20 blank pages in random order. One person starts a panel, the next artist draws the next one, etc... craziness! I had gotten a speeding ticket on the way to the jam (40 mph in a 30 and 145 bucks poorer) and was in a funk afterward. But the crew at the Jam turned my dark cloud into a double rainbow! Some seriously talented people, makes me want to up my game. I may be hooked.
